What is GBFA?

The GBFA certifies the ability to handle data collection and rapid triage across a wide range of devices. The exam covers efficiently acquiring data from a broad variety of devices, rapidly deriving actionable intelligence, and manually identifying and acquiring data. It is aligned with the SANS course FOR498. According to GIAC it addresses federal agents and law enforcement staff, digital forensic analysts, information security professionals, incident response team members, media exploitation analysts, defence and intelligence community professionals, and information security professionals interested in system preservation.
