What is GCPM?

The GCPM certifies project management knowledge for technical undertakings, from methodology through implementation. The exam covers project management structure and framework, time and cost management, communications and human resources, and quality and risk management, procurement, stakeholder management, and project integration. According to GIAC it addresses security professionals interested in IT project management, managers who want to understand the critical success factors of projects, professionals working on time, cost, quality, and risk sensitive projects, leadership roles in engineering and design, and candidates preparing for the PMP exam. As of August 2026 GIAC lists the GCPM as in abeyance and it can no longer be purchased; according to the provider, existing certifications remain renewable through continuing education credits.
