What is GCED?

The GCED certifies technical defensive skills across the whole enterprise environment. The exam covers network and cloud-based defensive infrastructure, penetration testing, digital forensics and incident response, network monitoring and logging, as well as packet, intrusion, and malware analysis. It is aligned with the SANS course SEC501. According to GIAC, the GCED builds on the security skills measured by the GSEC. It addresses incident responders and penetration testers, security operations center engineers and analysts, and network security staff.
