What is GCFE?

The GCFE certifies practical Windows forensics. The exam covers data triage, registry forensics, the analysis of USB devices and shell items, email forensics, and log analysis, plus advanced web browser forensics for Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. It is aligned with the SANS course FOR500. According to GIAC it addresses professionals with an IT or information security background, incident response team members, law enforcement officers, federal agents, investigators, and media exploitation analysts.
