What is GX-FA?

The GX-FA is the advanced certification building on the GCFA and, according to GIAC, is explicitly aimed at GCFA holders with additional practical experience. The exam covers investigating Windows file system artefacts, triage analysis of Windows systems, the analysis of volatile evidence, the analysis of system and activity events, and identification and detection in enterprise threat hunting as well as investigating malicious activity in enterprise environments. GIAC names FOR508 as the primary fit SANS course. The exam consists exclusively of practical tasks in lab environments; there are no multiple-choice questions, and GIAC does not publish a percentage passing score.
