Overview
What is OSCC-SJD?
OSCC-SJD (OffSec CyberCore Certified) is the certification for the SJD-100 course (Secure Java Development Essentials, launched March 2025), aimed at Java developers with security responsibility. The exam is hands-on and proctored over six hours: identify and fix five real vulnerabilities in live lab systems (points 25/25/20/15/15, passing at 75 of 100 points), with results immediately after submission and no documentation requirement. Content covers secure coding across input validation, output encoding, session and cookie security, logging and error handling, and secure database interaction. Strength: a practical fix-the-code proof instead of multiple choice. Limitation: a young title with limited market recognition so far; valid for three years with a CPE requirement.

Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, CSS and SQL; basic understanding of HTTP, web services and web application architecture. Java programming experience is a de-facto requirement; there is no formal admission check.
Exam format
Six hours, hands-on, proctored. Identify and fix five real vulnerabilities in live lab systems (points 25/25/20/15/15, 100 maximum), passing score 75 points. Results immediately after submission, no final report.
Renewal & maintenance
OSCC-SJD is valid for three years. Renewal via the OffSec CPE program (120 CPE per cycle plus an annual maintenance fee of 145 USD, one fee covering all expiring OffSec certifications), by retaking the exam, or by passing one of the numerous qualifying exams (including OSCC-SEC, OSCP, OSTH, OSIR).
