What is PECB CIR?
The PECB Certified Incident Responder is the practitioner tier of the PECB incident response track and certifies holders to detect, analyze, contain, and mitigate security incidents. The training combines classical theory modules with hands-on labs in a virtual environment accessible via a web browser. The exam is an open-book test with multiple-choice and scenario questions, exam fee included in the training price. The scheme is positioned as a practitioner tier between Foundation and Lead and targets SOC analysts and CSIRT members without management scope. In the DACH market it is an ISO-accredited alternative to GIAC GCIH and EC-Council ECIH, with emphasis on structured incident methodology rather than tooling depth.
