What is GCIP?
The GCIP certifies knowledge of protecting critical infrastructure under the NERC CIP standards. The exam covers the identification of BES cyber systems and strategies for lowering impact ratings, NERC-defined terms and the applicability of the CIP standards, strategic implementation approaches for supporting technologies, and the recurring tasks involved in maintaining CIP programmes. It is aligned with the SANS course ICS456. According to GIAC it addresses ICS cybersecurity practitioners, field support personnel, compliance staff, team leads and managers, and auditors.
