What is GX-PT?

The GX-PT is the advanced certification building on the GPEN and, according to GIAC, is explicitly aimed at GPEN holders with additional practical penetration testing experience. The exam covers reconnaissance of the target environment, network and vulnerability scanning, password and Active Directory attacks, vulnerability exploitation and privilege escalation, command and control, and the use of penetration testing tools on Linux and Windows. GIAC names SEC560 as the primary fit SANS course. The exam consists exclusively of practical tasks in lab environments; there are no multiple-choice questions, and GIAC does not publish a percentage passing score.
