What is GLEG?
The GLEG certifies knowledge at the intersection of law, data security, and investigations. The exam covers business policies and compliance, contracts and third party agreements, data retention and e-discovery, fraud and misuse, cybersecurity and investigations, and intellectual property, privacy, and personally identifiable information. According to GIAC it addresses investigators, security and IT professionals, lawyers and paralegals, auditors, accountants, technology managers, vendors, compliance officers, law enforcement officers, privacy officers, penetration testers, and incident responders. As of August 2026 GIAC lists the GLEG as in abeyance and it can no longer be purchased; according to the provider, existing certifications remain renewable through continuing education credits.
