What is PECB 42001SLA?
The PECB ISO/IEC 42001 Senior Lead Auditor is the senior tier for AI Management System (AIMS) audits. The upgrade requires several years of audit experience in AI or governance contexts plus an evidence-based application; no new exam. Supersedes the Lead Auditor administratively; AMF is paid once for the senior cert.

Prerequisites
Experience-based senior upgrade. Requires passing the PECB ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Auditor exam, ten years of professional experience (seven of them in AI), 1,000 hours of audit activity, and signing the PECB Code of Ethics.
Exam format
No separate senior exam. It is based on the Lead Auditor exam: 80 multiple-choice questions, 180 minutes, open book, seven competency domains, passing score 70 percent. Senior status is granted via proof of experience in the certification application, not an additional exam.
Renewal & maintenance
Valid for 3 years. Maintained via an annual maintenance fee (120 USD) and CPD evidence plus ongoing adherence to the PECB Code of Ethics.
