Overview

What is GSLC?

The GSLC is the security leadership credential of the SANS/GIAC system, aimed at leaders with security responsibility who need to understand technical matters and steer teams without working deep in the technology themselves. It is typically based on the associated SANS leadership course and covers program management, risk, security architecture fundamentals, and detection and response from a leadership perspective. The exam follows the GIAC model (open-book, proctored). Compared to governance certifications such as the CISM, the GSLC is more technically grounded and accessible without an admission barrier, but considerably less visible in the job market outside the SANS community.

Suitable for

Security managers and team leads in technical environments
Technically minded professionals moving into leadership roles
